A Jersey, Painted First
A Jersey, Painted First
A few weeks ago, an artwork was still wet on canvas. This week, it's on court, moving with the players wearing it.
That's the Indigenous jersey Minto Volley designed with La Trobe Uni Volleyball Club for NAIDOC Week, featuring original artwork by Tiffany Hunter. Watching a design go from paint to print to a real game is exactly why we started Minto — and exactly the kind of work we want to keep doing, starting here in Melbourne.
We only design for volleyball. Not volleyball as an afterthought on a template built for another sport — volleyball first, every time. That means fabric built for the way this game actually moves, artwork and detail that survive being worn hard, and a process clubs can rely on without chasing reprints.
This launch is just the start. Alongside the teamwear, we're building toward something Australian volleyball has been missing — a proper home for club directories, tournaments, and fixtures. Melbourne is where that starts too.
If your club has a story like this one waiting to be told on a jersey, we'd love to talk.
With thanks to La Trobe Uni Volleyball Club and artist Tiffany Hunter for the collaboration.
